In April 1862, Victor Hugo published one of his most famous novels: Les Misérables. Success is immediate! Its publisher - a Belgian! - therefore decides to celebrate with dignity the release of this historical, social and philosophical work: he organizes, in the presence of the Mayor of Brussels at the time, a banquet in honor of this outstanding writer concerned with social justice and dignity human.

150 years later, come relive the atmosphere of this memorable banquet in an exceptional place: the Royal Galleries of Saint-Hubert. In addition to a period menu which will be served to you thanks to the collaboration of the Center de Gastronomie Historique, you will be entitled to readings of texts - including a speech - by Victor Hugo, as well as the presence of a distinguished guest: Florian V. Hugo, the great-great-great-grandson of Victor Hugo! After having worked for eight years alongside Alain Ducasse in Paris, Monaco and then in London, this chef now puts his art of cooking at the service of the Cognac Brasserie, in the heart of Manhattan, in New York.
